Prince Rupert, founded in 1910 and named for a governor of the Hudson’s Bay Company, is a coastal mountain port and key link along the route to Alaska.

Ferries connect Seattle across the water to Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, making it a natural link between the US and Canadian coasts.
